United Christian Academy is a Christian school whose outreach is to families who are committed personally to Christ, Christian values and to the Word of God as our source for truth and daily living. We are concerned about the well-being of all students and we desire to minister to individual needs, whether spiritual or academic, as we draw each student into a closer walk with the Lord while teaching a keen appreciation of the work ethic and the rewards that follow. As you begin your tour through the admissions process, please feel free to contact us at any time with any questions that you might have at 832-887-1756.

All students are expected to comply with behavioral guidelines. Students in grades 6-12 are asked to personally sign a Statement of Cooperation. In addition to the expected parental support, we expect our Middle and High School students to accept accountability for their own conduct. Students must be willing to align themselves with our philosophy of education and promote the standards deemed characteristic of our school. Our dress code requires uniforms. (Please see U.C.A. Student Handbook)

Attending United Christian Academy is a privilege and not a right. This privilege is conditioned upon all family members showing support toward the administration and faculty of the school. All students must qualify for entry each year, whether seeking admission for the first time or re-admission for an upcoming year.

Admissions Policy

The school seeks students of average to above average academic ability and diverse socio‑economic and ethnic backgrounds and admits them to United Christian Academy to participate in its programs and activities without regard to race, sex, color, or place of national origin.  It is expected that all students admitted to the school will have good disciplinary records and be in good academic standing in their present schools. (All students will be subject to a student background check with previous school.)

New Applicants

New applicants will be accepted according to the following procedure:

  1. Application form filed at the school office
  2. Interview with principal when appropriate.
  3. Student’s grade transcripts filed at the office.
  4. Registration fee paid upon notification of acceptance to secure a place in the student body for the coming year. Registration Fee is non-refundable.
  5. Probationary status for the first 9 weeks of school to determine whether or student and school are a good match for one another.
  6. Background check with previous school for all students before being accepted.
  7. Letter of recommendation from former school or current church pastor for grades 6th – 12th.

Age Requirements

Age requirements met: State law mandates that children entering kindergarten must be five (5) years of age on or before September 1st of the year in which they are enrolled and six (6) years of age on or before September 1st of the year they enroll in 1st grade. We require, therefore, that children entering our Pre‑Kindergarten 4 class must be 4 on or before September 1st of the year in which they enroll.

Assuming a prospective new student meets basic admissions criteria, priority status for securing an available place in a class is determined as follows:

  1. Students currently enrolled in United Christian Academy
  2. Children of other Christian faiths
  3. The unchurched

Financial and Billing Policies

United Christian Academy, making every effort to keep them reasonable and affordable, sets tuition and fees.  Charges reflect as realistically as possible the rate of inflation and increased costs of operation.

FEES

Registration fee:  $100.00 (returning students); $150.00 (New students) There is an annual registration fee required of all students to secure places in their respective classes and to finance the purchase of teaching materials at the start of the school year.  This fee is paid directly to the school. These fees are processing fees, and as such have been “consumed” with each registration; registration fees, therefore, are NOT REFUNDABLE.

Book fee: This fee covers items such as PACE and textbook usage. $130.00 for Pre-K – 1st grade; $150.00 for 2nd – 12th grade. There is no “roll over” of PACEs from the prior school year. New PACEs must be purchased every year. Book fees are also NOT REFUNDABLE.  PACE/Books remain property of United Christian Academy even if student withdraws or is dismissed during the school year.

Graduation fee:  There will be a $20 fee for the Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten class.  This fee will cover the costs for cap and gown and diplomas.  This fee is payable by May 1st.
